Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif recently opened up about her latest film, “Merry Christmas,” and the underwhelming response it has received at the box office. Despite the disappointing numbers, the actress revealed that she chose to focus on the storyline of the film rather than its potential box office performance when she signed on for the project.

The film, which saw a drop in its second week of release, earned ₹0.52 crore on Friday, January 20th. Responding to the box office numbers, Katrina emphasized that she always tries to focus on the present and not get lost in the end result. She stated, “I always try to focus on what I’m doing because if I look for the end, then I get lost. My energy is diverted and I cannot focus and concentrate on what I’m doing at the present. So when the film came to me, I loved this story and instantly connected to it.”

Despite the initial slow start, the film managed to earn ₹14.75 crore in its first week of release, with expectations of a rise in collection trends in the coming weeks. Additionally, Katrina Kaif expressed her satisfaction with working with director Sriram Raghavan, stating that it has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of her career. She approached Raghavan with the belief that he would bring out a different side of her as a performer, and the results have been some of her best reviews ever.

Regarding the film’s performance, industry experts have weighed in with their opinions, expressing confidence in the film’s potential to pick up at the box office in the coming weeks. Film critic Rajeev Masand stated, “While the initial box office numbers may have been underwhelming, the positive reviews and word-of-mouth buzz around the film suggest that it has the potential to gain momentum in the coming weeks. With the star power of Katrina Kaif and the unique storytelling of Sriram Raghavan, ‘Merry Christmas’ could still turn out to be a sleeper hit.”
