Day 89 – Snake VS Block

Snake VS Block, swipe your finger to guide a snake of balls and break the bricks. Try to break as many bricks as possible. Get additional balls and make the biggest snake ever!

Snake vs Block

Often the simplest concepts are the best. With my penultimate review being on a game ranked #2 in the app store, this could not be more true. The game is literally a snake of balls which you control, and blocks with numbers on. To break through a block you must have more balls than the number written on them, each hit on a block reduces its number by 1, and takes a ball from you.

I think that this is a fun game because it has many addictive properties. Each move you make is filled with risk; going for those extra 5 balls could mean that you accidentally stumble into a 60 block, and die because you are trapped with nowhere else to go. However, because this game is so simple, it isn’t one you can cure hours of boredom with.

The graphics are perfect but really are nothing special as they are literally just a bunch of blocks on a black background. There is no sound whatsoever which is quite disappointing and the lack of content other than different snake colours just makes this game feel incredibly shallow. The gameplay is its saving grace and could explain its high app store ranking simply due to the fun it provides.
