Hutch has been named one of the best places to work in the UK according to list.
Mobile racing specialist Hutch becomes the only gaming studio to make the 2017 list, and one of just 27 UK companies to be featured in the Best Small Workplaces category
Yesterday it was announced that Hutch had earned a much coveted spot in the UK’s Best Workplaces list, becoming one of just 27 companies to make it into the Small Workplaces category, and the only gaming studio to make into the overall list of 120 companies. This year’s list was announced late Wednesday night during the Best Workplaces Awards at the Park Plaza in Westminster Bridge, London, and is published in this week’s Guardian and The Sunday Telegraph newspapers.
The London-based independent developer scores high in staff survey with innovations including remote working twice a week
The studio’s high staff satisfaction is largely due to innovative workplace measures, which include the option to work remotely twice a week. By giving people the opportunity to make their job work around their life, Hutch are able to create roles that widen their talent pool beyond London.
The announcement is just one in a line of successes for the London based independent studio in 2017, following the smash hit release of Hot Wheels: Race Off in partnership with Mattel (which has attracted over 26 million downloads in just under four months), as well as a recent investment round totalling $5.5 million.

Shaun Rutland, Hutch’s CEO, comments: “We’ve got off the line to a great start in 2017. The studio has experienced fast-paced growth since just five of us founded the studio back in 2011, growing to a workforce of over 50 car enthusiasts today. We have always strived to make Hutch a special place to work, and making it into the Best Workplaces list is not only a huge honour, but supports the fact that this focus has been felt by our crew.”
